About me

Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Water Resources and Ocean Engineering) of National Institute of Technology, Surathkal.

I have a B.Tech. (Bachelor of Technology) degree in Civil Engineering from IGIT Sarang and a M.Tech. (Master of Technology) degree in Water Resources Engineering and Management from IIT Guwahati. In my Ph.D. at IIT Guwahati, I have worked on impact of anthropogenic disturbances on fluvial systems. I am also studying the quantitative fluvial geomorphology with hydrodynamic modelling, fluvial data analysis, and remote sensing based tools/ cloud computing platforms.

• Co-authord a research article entitled ‘Identifying the stability trajectory of a large braided Brahmaputra River using reach-scale process-based approach’ in the Journal of Hydrology. Read the article

• Published a research article in Catena Journal, which focuses on the development of process-based geomorphic indicators and resilience-based management strategies for a highly braided river system Read the article

• Presentation at Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS) 2023 Conference, Singapore on topic “Evaluating the Influence of Hydrological Changes on the Process-based River Recovery Trajectory in Asian River Systems”

• Presented in AGU Fall Meeting 2022 Conference, on “Understanding River Recovery for Indian Rivers: Emerging Challenges and Solutions”

• Published a research article on ‘River Recovery’ in Nature Scientific Reports Journal Read the article

• Co-authord a research article entitled ‘Understanding the Entropy-based Morphological Variability and Energy Expenditure Mechanism of a large Braided River System’ in the Journal of Hydrology.

• Co-authord a book chapter on ‘Hydrological Modeling in Himalayan River System’ in Soil-Water, Agriculture, and Climate (Water Sci.,Technol.Library, Vol. 113). Read the article

• Delivered a lecture on ‘Implications of Google Earth Engine in Hydro-ecological Modeling’ to Assam State Water Resources Engeneers in workshop conducted by NHP proeject.
• Delivered a lecture on ‘River Recovery and Use of Geospatial Techniques’ in 5th Pre-event of the 2nd UN-WGI Congress, Gauhati University, India
• Co-ordinated a two-day training program entitled “River Bank Erosion Stabilization and River Modelling under National Hydrology Project” at Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Guwahati
